More About the School of Leaders

The School of Leaders is a place, time and presence for the formation of Cursillo Leaders.  The School of Leaders is a group reunion of the Secreteriat, Spiritual Directors and interested Cursillistas who have the desire to share a greater depth, knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ and each other through the Cursillo method.  The School of Leaders challenges each participant to embrace their growth in community as laity in relationship to each other and the Lord by use of the Group Reunion and the Ultreya.

The School of Leaders helps to prepare those attending to grow in their spirituality and to be a witness to their baptismal calling to serve the Lord. Growth is sought in greater knowledge of the movement, which may be gained in the study of the "Rollo"'s from the three-day weekend, the study of the Bible in relationship to the "Rollo"'s and the study of Cursillo Literature and Church Documents as they relate to the Movement.  The search for depth in the Movement is enhanced by the sharing in witness from both the Spiritual Directors and the Laity.

Ultimately, the School of Leaders is part of our path to the kingdom, as we help each other along in humility, with the aid of the Holy Spirit, giving the best that we have to offer for the glory of God. Ultreya!!!!

January 21, 2012

On January 21st our lay presentation will begin with Chapter 3 page 70 “The Method of the Cursillo Movement,” and we will discuss the three stages of the movement. The first is to select environments and candidates [Pre-Cursillo]. The second is to foster an authentic and ongoing conversion on part of the cursillistas [Cursillo]. The third, is to reinsert those who have lived their Cursillo weekend, into the places they came from, to accompany them in their work of evangelizing of those environments.    Ref: “The Fundamental Ideals of the Cursillo Movement”.

The Spiritual Advisor’s presentation for January will be by Fr. Jim Brown.  He will share his thoughts about information “Evangelization Catholic Style,” in “Catholic Evangelization the Heart of Ministry,” Chapter 9 on Page 143. High points are: Reflecting on evangelization Catholic style, Implications of what Catholics learn from the fundamentalist appeal and action steps that we, as Catholics, can take.

We also have available the new book for 2012 that our Spiritual Advisor’s will be using, “Study of the Charism.”  This book is highly recommended by the National Cursillo. I’m looking forward to getting a jump start on 2012, and start reading it now.

Come share in the good discussions, prayers, songs and fellowship.  The coffee/tea pot is on, friends are coming, and we’d like to see you there.  We meet at St. Michael the Archangel, Findlay Ohio in the Teachers’ Lounge from 9:00 am – Noon. Call me if you need more information. 419-865-725’2
